What is Shockwave Therapy?
Shockwave therapy is a clinically proven treatment for chronic (long term) soft tissue injuries. Shockwave treatment is usually recommended for clients who have already had previous therapies that have not resolved the problem.
Shockwave treatment restarts the body’s self healing mechanisms. This is done through sound waves which initiate a pro flammatory response in the tissues where the shockwave treatment is applied.
Types of injuries that may be suitable for Shockwave Therapy

Is the shockwave treatment itself painful?
The shockwave treatment itself can be a bit painful, but most people can stand these few intense minutes without medication. If you are in pain during the treatment please notify your therapist immediately the settings can be adjusted to accommodate individuals.
Will I be in pain after the treatment?
You will normally experience a reduced level of pain or no pain at all immediately after the treatment, but a mild and diffused pain may occur a few hours later. This dull pain can last for a day or so. this can be treated with ordinary painkillers but anti-inflammatory medicine should or ice should not be used.
